JOB ROLES
In todays class we did research on job roles and what each member does to assist in the creation, advertisement, and finalisation of a game, I decided to choose 3D environment design as i believe this is what i want to focus on throughout my time developing games, we also presented to each other our role, where we could recieve questions and answer as correctly as we could with our knowledge on the role. For the presentation we researched 3D environment design where the majority of the data we used came from valve and cgspectrum job descriptions.

3D environment artist:Â
Within the field of 3d environment artistry you will typically be expected to do at least one of the following, design, modelling, texturing, lighting or composition however they will typically do multiple of these within one project, their goal is to bring the scenery and atmosphere of the game to life with visuals. This part of game development will require a good understanding in art and composition, with the ability to demonstrate your own abilities within environmental design, modelling and light work, al whilst keeping the environment optimised. Some parts of environmental art will usually want flexibility in art style and genre.Â
During my research of this portion of game development the only part that shocked me is that they expected you to design the lighting as I had expected that to be its own section due to recent advancements with tools such as ray-tracing/path-tracing.Â
